Touring Tuscola

Welcome to Tuscola!   We are so excited you have joined us for a Tour of our Town!

These five virtual tours, Historic Homes, Cemetery Walk, Businesses,  Streets & Subdivisions, and Points of Interest,  can be accessed individually, by unclicking the tours you are not doing, or taken all together with all points showing at once.   Walk our streets, read the stories and click through the photos to be transported through Tuscola's history.  As the title of our history book describes, these tours of Tuscola will have you Strolling through the Past!

There are so many who worked hard to put this virtual tour together and gather data to populate it!  Much content has been repurposed for this tour from the Tuscola history book, Tuscola:  Strolling Through the Past 1857-2007, published in 2007.    The Douglas County Museum volunteers, board and director, Anna Miller, have been invaluable in their research and content gathering!  The Museum is a wonderful asset to our community for preserving our heritage.

Our deepest appreciation goes out to the following:

Tuscola City Hall employees

Douglas County Museum and Anna Miller

Tuscola:  Strolling Through the Past history book committee - Linda Brewer, Pat Phillips, Judy Landeck, Alan Michener, Frank Lincoln and Boyd Henderson

Kim Higgins and Kathy Sapp for Cemetery Walk information

Randy Hastings for Sesquicentennial tour information
