LEAF COLLECTION
2023 Fall leaf pickup service will end the week of December 11, 2023.
The City of Tuscola Street Department provides leaf pickup service in the fall, since the burning of landscape waste, including leaves, is prohibited within the city limits. This service is provided free of charge for approximately eight weeks during the fall (the exact dates are dependent on when the leaves fall.) In order to utilize this service, residents must simply rake their leaves to the curb or edge of the road. Leaf piles must be free of garbage, debris, and any other landscape waste-LEAVES ONLY! They will be collected according to the following schedule:
Monday - North of railroad tracks
Wednesday - South of railroad tracks
All leaves must be out by 7:30 am to be picked up that day
PARKING AREA/POTHOLE REPAIR
From time to time, the Street Department will provide additional gravel to repair/refill the on-street parking areas in front of residents’ homes. They will also make asphalt repairs (potholes, washboards, etc.) To report an area in need of such repairs, please call City Hall or submit your request here. A list of repairs is maintained, and when a sufficient amount is reached, crews will be dispatched to perform the work.
LANDSCAPE WASTE FACILITY
The City of Tuscola operates a landscape waste facility for use by its residents. The facility is located directly east of the Street Department, in what was once known as the “City Dump.” Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., residents (sorry –no commercial contractors) may deposit landscape waste, including leaves, grass clippings, brush, shrubbery, and timber up to four inches in diameter. No large timber, garbage, plastic bags, or construction debris is allowed. Please call City Hall with any questions.
