Wimple Park

Wimple Park

Surrounding Wimple Pond at the end of Hillcrest Drive, Wimple Park is the perfect place to relax while taking in the Great Outdoors. Catch bluegill, catfish, and bass while fishing from the shore, take a walk with man’s best friend, or just relax under a shade tree.

Wimple Park was dedicated August 31, 1974. The land was part of the Raymond Wimple farm given to the city to create a park. Also, Mr. Wimple gave money for the pavilion, benches and bathrooms. Wimple Park provides a quiet getaway, a beautiful picnic area and the manmade pond is stocked for people who love to fish.

Wimple Park shall be open to the public daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday of each week, throughout the months of April through October of each year.  However, the opening and closing of the park may be accelerated or delayed by the City Council, depending upon the weather conditions.

Pavilions

Need a space for a reunion, company picnic, or other outdoor gathering? There is an outdoor pavilion at Wimple Park. Complete with picnic tables, barbecue grills, and trash cans, all you need to bring is your own food and charcoal. The pavilions are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get there early.
