This week, the City Council approved a fireworks display for September 25 at approximately 9 pm from the Wimple Park location. Of course, this plan is weather dependent. Viewing fireworks from this location may be best from areas to the north of the site, as it is hoped the homecoming attendees at the high school will be in for a spectacular show! For the safety of the public, all of Wimple Park, along with portions of Hillcrest Drive and Cemetery Drive, will be closed to visitors and spectators during that day and evening. The City asks that spectators avoid parking to view fireworks within residential neighborhoods. Additionally, spectators should not block access to any commercial, residential or farm property to view fireworks. Parking upon private property, including commercial property, to view the fireworks is at the discretion of the private property owner.
