The Tuscola Township Cemetery is within the corporate limits of the City of Tuscola and many Tuscola citizens are buried there.  Tuscola Township has an excellent on-line tool to search for graves in the cemetery.

Tuscola is the seat of Douglas County, IL, and as such, is the home to the Douglas County Courthouse.  All vital records for Douglas County are accessed through the Clerk and Recorder's Office in the Courthouse.

Additional historical information can be obtained by visiting the Douglas County Museum.  The museum houses a vast collection of Douglas County memorabilia, and exists to collect and preserve Douglas County history for future generations.

Tuscola is home to many historical homes and businesses.  Information on many of those, including Sears Catalogue homes, are included in the Tuscola History Book.

Downtown History Walking Tour books can be purchased at the Douglas County Museum Or Flesor's Candy Kitchen! Books are $5 and all proceeds go to the Douglas County Museum.

>  Monday's regularly scheduled Tuscola City Council meeting has been rescheduled to today WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2024.  The previously posted meeting agenda will remain the same.

> Waste Management cancelled their operations for Monday, pushing their garbage collection schedule back one day for the rest of the week.  City of Tuscola residents garbage day will be THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 2024

The Tuscola Pool is now hiring lifeguards, and aspiring lifeguards, for the 2024 summer season!  Please apply on-line at https://tuscola.org/pool-apply  

Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old, be able to complete City-provided training classes, and become certified in order to be hired.
