Hours – Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

For stray dog pickups, please call the animal control office. On the weekend, please call the sheriff’s office 217-253-2913. Dogs are available for adoption 7 days after coming into the pound. They are kept for 3 days for adoption. Any dog can be seen and inquired about before the 7 days are up. If you have lost your pet be sure to check the pound.

All dogs are required by law to have their Rabies vaccine (1-year or 3-year), be registered and wear the Rabies tag on their collar. Dogs must be on a leash at all times, or other proper restraint, under the direct control of the owner.

All dog bites must be reported to the animal control office.
